| Maj. Gen. D.N. Khurana retired from the Indian Army after a distinguished service of nearly 40 years. He was honoured by the President of India with the award of Ati Vashisht Seva Medal for distinguished services of Highly Exceptional Order. After retirement, he has been very actively involved in professional management and education in the country for nearly two decades.
He was the founding Director General of Institute of Directors India (IOD) for two years. IOD is an apex association of company directors committed to improving the competitiveness of Indian Business through development of its leadership. Thereafter, he steered the National Management Movement in the country for nearly 12 years as Director General of All India Management Association. He built AIMA as a strong Institution which is acknowledged as a leader in Management Development Movement not only in India but whole of Asia.
During this period, he established a very close rapport with Industry, business, government, professional bodies and business schools across the country. Many new and innovative products and services of high quality were introduced during this period for enhancing professional competence of Indian Managers.
He assumed the leadership of management movement in the Asia Pacific region as Secretary General of Asian Association of Management Organisation in 2005. He has widely traveled across the globe to over 30 countries in all the continents and inter acted with professionals, managers and entrepreneur at various levels. He has been a member of Policy Making bodies of Government of India including AICTE.
Currently, he is Chairman Center for Public Policy at New Delhi. He is a Director on the Boards of Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Ahmedabad, Havells India Ltd and RRB Energy Ltd. He is also on the Board of Governors of IIM Lucknow and a number of leading Business Schools.
He was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for Management by World HRD Congress in 2005. |
